Design Your Puzzle Frame
Frame your finished puzzle at its exact size, with shadow box depth for the assembled panel.
Puzzle Sizes and Frame Dimensions
Jigsaw puzzle dimensions vary by manufacturer and piece count. A 500-piece puzzle typically measures around 18x24 inches, a 1000-piece puzzle around 20x27 or 24x30 inches, and a 2000-piece puzzle can reach 27x39 inches or larger. Measure your completed puzzle from edge to edge before ordering. Our frames accommodate puzzles from the small 100-piece range (approximately 10x13 inches) up to 2000 pieces. Enter the measured width and height, and the frame is built to fit.
Most assembled puzzles are approximately 2 to 3 millimeters thick, roughly 1/8 inch. A standard frame with a shallow rabbet depth accommodates this, but for puzzles that are slightly warped or have thicker cardboard stock, our shadow box depth option provides additional clearance. Optional puzzle glue sheets are adhesive-backed films that bond all pieces together into a rigid panel. Apply the sheet to the back of the completed puzzle, trim the excess, and the puzzle becomes a solid unit that can be handled and mounted like a poster or print.
6 Adhesive Preservation Sheets Included
Every puzzle frame ships with six adhesive preservation sheets, no separate purchase needed. These peel-and-press sheets bond your puzzle to the foam core backing without liquid glue, keeping the puzzle surface clean and the image sharp.

Peel-Away Backing
Each sheet has a protective liner. Peel it off to expose the adhesive surface when you are ready to mount.
Precision-Cut Adhesive Surface
Pre-cut sheets cover standard puzzle sizes. Lay them across the back of your completed puzzle, they bond all pieces into a single rigid panel.
Bonds Puzzle to Foam Core. No Liquid Glue
The adhesive bonds your puzzle directly to the foam core backing. No messy liquid glue, no glossy finish on the front, no waiting for things to dry.
Peel, press, display. Six sheets included in every puzzle frame, enough for puzzles up to 2000 pieces.

Common Questions
Can I frame any size jigsaw puzzle?
Yes, we frame any puzzle from 100 to 2000 pieces. This includes standard, panoramic, square, and round puzzles. We have preset sizes for common puzzles. Have a different size? Use our custom option to enter any width and height.
Do I need to glue my puzzle before framing?
Gluing is strongly recommended. An unglued puzzle can shift during transport and handling, causing pieces to separate inside the frame. Our puzzle glue sheets are applied to the back of the completed puzzle and bond all pieces into a single rigid panel. This method avoids the glossy surface finish that liquid puzzle glue leaves on the front. If you prefer liquid glue, apply it and let it dry completely before measuring and ordering the frame.
How do I measure my completed puzzle accurately?
Place a straight edge along each side of the completed puzzle and measure from outer edge to outer edge. Measure both the width and the height in inches, rounding to the nearest 1/8 inch. Do not include any border or mat in your measurement. Enter the puzzle dimensions as the artwork size during ordering, and the frame will be built to fit those measurements with appropriate clearance.
Should I use glass or acrylic glazing for a puzzle frame?
Acrylic is the better choice for most puzzle frames. Puzzles are often large, and acrylic weighs significantly less than glass at the same size, reducing stress on the hanging hardware and the wall. Acrylic is also shatter-resistant, which matters for frames that may be 24x30 inches or larger. A non-glare acrylic upgrade reduces reflections if the puzzle will be displayed in a bright room.
Can I add a mat to my puzzle frame?
Yes, mats are optional for rectangular puzzles and required for round puzzles. A mat adds a border between your puzzle and frame. It protects edges and makes the display look clean. You can choose single or double mats. For round puzzles, the mat is required because the circular cutout is the only way to show a round puzzle in a square frame.
How do I preserve my completed jigsaw puzzle?
You need four things: glue sheets to hold pieces together, a stiff backing board, thick clear acrylic to block dust, and a shadowbox frame with enough depth. Together, these layers keep your puzzle flat, protected, and looking great for years.
What size jigsaw puzzle frame do I need for a 1000 piece puzzle?
A 1000 piece puzzle frame fits a completed puzzle around 20x27 or 24x30 inches, depending on the maker. Measure your finished puzzle edge to edge. Order a jigsaw puzzle frame in that exact size with shadow box depth so the assembled board does not press against the acrylic. A 500 piece puzzle frame is usually 14x19 inches. A 2000 piece puzzle frame is around 27x39 inches.
What is the best frame for puzzle preservation and long-term display?
The best frame for puzzle preservation is a solid wood shadow box puzzle frame with archival adhesive sheets, a foam core backing board, and thick clear acrylic glazing. The shadow box depth keeps the assembled puzzle from touching the acrylic. The adhesive sheets bond the pieces into a rigid panel. Display the finished frame out of direct sunlight to slow fading over years of wall display.
