What canvas depth does a 16x20 floater frame fit?

Do I need to remove my canvas from its stretcher bars to frame it?
No. The canvas stays on its stretcher bars and mounts into the floater from the back. The wrapped sides of the canvas remain visible through the small reveal between canvas and frame.
