What size frame do I need for an 8x10 print with a mat?
A standard 2.5-inch mat border around an 8x10 print requires an 11x14 frame. A 3-inch border requires a 14x18 frame. The mat opening is cut to 7.75x9.75 inches so it overlaps the print edge by 1/8 inch on each side, holding the print in place behind the mat.
Do all moulding profiles come in every size?
Most profiles are available up to 32×40 inches for shipping nationwide. Larger frames are available for local pickup, contact us to discuss. Some narrow or decorative profiles have a lower maximum dimension due to structural limitations. Each product page lists the maximum recommended size for that specific moulding.
How do I measure artwork for a custom size frame?
Measure the width and height of the area you want visible inside the frame, to the nearest 1/8 inch. If you are using a mat, measure the artwork and specify the mat opening size separately. If you are framing without a mat, the frame rabbet will overlap approximately 1/8 inch on each side, so your visible area will be slightly smaller than the frame interior.
