Basketball Display Cases

Basketball Display Cases & Custom Basketball Frames

A basketball display case holds a full-size or mini basketball behind glazing in a shadow box built to your exact size. At CustomPictureFrames.com we make the shadow box frame itself, with felt or suede interior backing in your choice of color and clear framer's grade acrylic, lighter than glass on deeper builds. You set up the interior the way you want, typically with a foam cradle or display stand to keep the ball centered. These frames suit signed basketballs, championship balls, and mini commemorative balls. Standard orders ship in 3-5 business days. Open the shadow box designer to enter your dimensions and set up your basketball display.

Custom Basketball Display Cases

A full-size men's basketball is roughly 9.5 inches in diameter, so most frames run around 13 to 15 inches square with around 10 inches of depth. A foam cradle or display stand seats the ball against the interior backing and keeps it centered; you supply the cradle. Felt or suede backing in your choice of color reads cleanly behind the leather. For signed balls or championship balls, clear framer's grade acrylic keeps the case light to hang and the writing readable from any angle.

Mini Basketball Display Cases

Mini basketballs (around 7 inches) are common for arena giveaways, autograph-signing balls, and youth keepsakes. A mini frame runs around 10 inches square with about 8 inches of depth, and a smaller cradle or stand keeps the ball centered. The shorter walls also keep the frame light on the wall, which matters if you are grouping a few mini-ball pieces on a shelf or in a row.

Add a Photo or Nameplate

A photo and a brass engraved nameplate (player, date, championship year) turn a basketball case into a milestone display. Size the case to leave room for the photo and the plate alongside the ball, mount the plate on the interior backing or the moulding face, and the whole piece reads as one finished display. See the brass nameplates page for finishes and layouts. For other sports display formats, browse the sports memorabilia hub.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size case do I need for a full-size basketball?

A full-size men's basketball is about 9.5 inches in diameter, so most cases run around 13 to 15 inches square with at least 10 inches of depth to clear the ball comfortably. Add margin around the ball if you want room for a nameplate or photo. The designer lets you set width, height, and depth independently.

Do you make mini basketball display cases?

Yes. Mini basketballs (around 7 inches) fit in a smaller case, typically around 10 inches square with 8 inches of depth. Mini ball displays are common for arena giveaways, autograph-signing balls, and youth keepsakes.

Will this work for a signed basketball?

Yes. Clear framer's grade acrylic keeps the case light to hang and the signature reading clearly from any angle, and it is the standard glazing for both signed and unsigned basketball displays.

How is the ball held in place?

We build the shadow box frame; you arrange the interior. Most people seat the ball in a foam cradle or display stand against the interior backing so it stays centered. The cradle or stand sizes to the ball you specify, full size or mini, and is something you supply.

Can I add a nameplate or photo?

Yes. A brass engraved nameplate (player, date, championship year) mounts on the interior backing. A photo can sit alongside the ball in the same case if you size the case to allow for it. See the brass nameplates page for layout options.

How long do basketball display cases take to ship?

Standard orders ship in 3-5 business days. Deeper builds and oversized layouts follow the same window in most cases. Every case is made to order at your specified dimensions and tracking goes out by email when the order ships.
