Photo Restoration & Reprinting Service
Photo restoration brings a damaged, faded, or torn photograph back to life as a fresh archival print you can frame and display. At CustomPictureFrames.com we scan your original at high resolution, repair tears, fading, stains, and missing areas, and print a new copy on archival photo paper. Your original is returned to you untouched. Restored prints can be framed in the same order, so a recovered family photo arrives ready to hang. Standard restoration orders are completed in 3-5 business days.

What We Restore
These are the kinds of damage we repair most often. If your photo has a problem that is not listed, bring it in and we will tell you whether it is recoverable.
How Photo Restoration Works
1. You bring the original
Bring the print to our Somerset shop and we assess it in person.
2. We scan at high resolution
All work happens on the scan, so the original photo is never altered or at risk.
3. We restore digitally
Using modern restoration techniques we repair damage and rebuild missing areas.
4. We print a fresh copy
Your restored image is printed on archival photo paper.
5. We frame it, if you like
Add a custom frame in the same order so it arrives ready to hang.
6. Your original comes back
We return the original print to you untouched.
Because every step happens on a high-resolution scan, the original print is never altered or at risk.
What Restoration Can and Cannot Recover
Most fading, tears, stains, and creases recover well. Color shift in older prints can be corrected, scratches and spots can be cleaned up, and missing corners can usually be rebuilt so the repair is hard to spot.
Heavily missing areas are different. If a face has been torn away entirely, we rebuild it as a close approximation, not a guarantee. The more of the original image that survives, the stronger the result.
We tell you what is recoverable in the free quote before any work or payment begins. That honest assessment is the difference between a professional restoration and a one-click free app: we set the expectation up front rather than promising magic.
Restored and Framed Together
A restored photo of a grandparent, a wedding, or a family home becomes a finished piece when it is framed. Add a custom frame in the same order and the recovered photo arrives ready to give or hang.
Browse custom picture frames for a flat framed print, or shadow box frames if you want to display the restored photo alongside keepsakes.
Bring It In
Bring the original to our Somerset shop and we will assess it in person. Walk-ins are welcome.
There is no charge to assess the photo, and we confirm what is recoverable before any work begins. We handle the scanning, restoration, and reprinting in house, so your original never leaves our shop.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will you damage or alter my original photo?
No. We scan your original at high resolution and do all restoration work on the scan. The original print is never edited, cut, or chemically treated, and it comes back to you untouched.
What kinds of photo damage can you restore?
Tears and rips, color fading and shift, water damage and staining, cracks and creases, scratches and spots, missing corners, and sun-bleaching. Most common damage to printed photos recovers well.
What if part of the photo is completely missing?
Heavily missing areas, such as a face torn away entirely, are rebuilt as a close approximation rather than a guarantee. We tell you what is recoverable in the free quote before any work or payment begins.
Can you frame the restored photo?
Yes. The restored print can be framed in the same order, so a recovered family photo arrives ready to hang. You can also add a shadow box if you want to display the photo alongside keepsakes.
How much does photo restoration cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the photo and how much repair the image needs. Bring the photo to our Somerset shop and we assess it in person at no charge, then confirm the price before any work starts.
How long does photo restoration take?
Standard restoration orders are completed in 3-5 business days. Heavier repairs or orders that include framing can take a little longer, and we confirm the timeline with your quote.
