Precision Magazine Framing
Magazine Frames, Magazine Display Frames & Framed Magazines
Custom magazine display frames and magazine cover frames sized for standard and oversized covers
A magazine you saved tells a story you want to keep. We frame the whole magazine, not just the cover, in sizes that fit every title from small digest issues up to oversized formats like Life and Rolling Stone. Pick a single magazine frame, or build a collage that holds two, three, or more magazines side by side. The frame is deep enough for the full magazine with its spine, and the clear acrylic front keeps the colors bright for years.

Why Collectors Choose Our Magazine Frames
Every detail built to keep your magazine in great shape and hold its value
Deep-Profile Shadowbox Construction
The deep frame keeps covers away from the acrylic. This gap stops moisture buildup, ink transfer, and surface contact damage.
Professional-Grade Acrylic Glazing
Thick clear framer's grade acrylic glazing keeps glossy covers clean and easy to view. Pick standard clarity or non-glare to reduce reflection.
Archival-Grade Mat Board
Made from neutral material that won't harm your magazine pages. Keeps colors stable and paper in good condition over time.

Common Magazine Framing Questions
Answers about sizing, materials, and preserving collectible publications
Should I remove the cover from the magazine before framing?
For most collectors, keeping the magazine intact is preferable because it preserves the complete artifact. Use the shadow box depth option to accommodate the spine thickness. If you only want to display the cover image and the magazine is not valuable as a complete issue, you can carefully separate the cover along the spine fold. However, this permanently alters the magazine and is not recommended for collectible or rare issues.
Will the glossy cover stick to the acrylic glazing?
In normal conditions, no. Glossy magazine covers are finished with a varnish or UV coating that does not bond to acrylic. However, in extremely hot and humid environments, there is a small risk of the cover surface softening and adhering to the glazing. Using a mat creates a gap between the cover and the acrylic, eliminating any contact. This is another reason we recommend matting for magazine frames even when the mat is purely functional rather than decorative.
What frame style complements magazine covers?
Magazine covers are graphically bold, so a simple frame works best. A 3/4-inch flat profile in matte black or bright white lets the cover image dominate. For a grouping of magazine covers on a single wall, matching frames in the same style and color create a gallery-like rhythm. Avoid ornate mouldings, as the visual complexity of most magazine covers provides all the detail the display needs.
How do I keep a vintage magazine looking its best?
Acid-free mat board and archival mounting isolate the magazine from reactive surfaces so the paper stays clean and flat. Pair that with our framer's grade acrylic or upgrade to non-glare acrylic for reduced reflections.
What acrylic options are available?
Every frame ships with thick clear framer's grade acrylic. You can upgrade to non-glare acrylic to reduce reflections under direct lighting.
Can I add an engraved plaque to a magazine frame?
Yes. A solid brass plaque can be engraved with the issue date, publication title, or a personal message and mounted below the mat opening.
Will proper framing help preserve a magazine's collectible value?
Good framing with custom frame shop quality materials stops the handling, light, and moisture damage that wear down your magazine and lower its resale value over time.
What size frame fits Rolling Stone magazine?
Current issues measure 8 x 11 inches. Classic oversized issues from earlier decades measure 10.5 x 12 inches. Our designer accommodates both formats.
Can the frame handle magazines with thick spines or embossed covers?
Yes. Our shadowbox frames provide enough depth to accommodate thick bindings, textured covers, and specialty packaging without compressing the magazine.
What size is a standard magazine cover frame?
Most modern magazine cover frames are built around the standard 8 by 10.5-inch cover trim. The finished magazine frame is 12 by 14.5 inches with a 2-inch mat border. Oversized formats like classic Rolling Stone (10 by 12) or Life (10.5 by 14) need a larger magazine display frame. The designer fits the mat opening to the title you choose.
How do I build a magazine wall display from multiple covers?
For a magazine wall display, group 3 to 6 framed magazine covers in matching profile and mat color and hang them on a grid with 2 to 3 inches of spacing. Same-size magazine display frames (for example, six 12 by 14.5 inch frames of TIME, Sports Illustrated, or The New Yorker covers) create a clean gallery rhythm without competing with the cover art.
