A jersey is fabric, has volume, and usually has sentimental or collectible value attached. Standard picture framing techniques will damage it. Four things drive a jersey build, and we walk through each one with you in person.
Depth
Flat jerseys need 3/4 inch. Captain's C patches, championship patches, or thick chenille numbering push to 1.5 inches. Paired with a helmet, signed ball, or cleats? Plan on 2.5 to 3.5. We measure your specific jersey before designing so the depth fits without flattening any detail.
Mounting
Pins through fabric weaken fibers and damage value. Hot glue stains permanently. We use archival mounting strips and hidden support that hold the jersey in shape without permanent attachment. For autographed pieces, the layout positions the jersey so the signature never contacts the glass.
Glazing
Clear framer's grade acrylic on every jersey shadow box. Because non-glare acrylic hazes across the depth of a shadow box, we glaze jersey displays with clear acrylic only, which keeps the jersey and any signature sharp. Acrylic is lighter and shatter-resistant, which matters when an oversized shadow box has to hang on standard drywall or ship safely to a customer.
Presentation
Single jersey, paired display, or multi-jersey collection. Team-color matting that matches the franchise (Yankees navy, Lakers purple and gold, Giants royal) without competing with the piece. Backlit and LED-Illuminated Jersey Shadow Boxes
For championship pieces, signature acquisitions, and centerpiece displays, we build custom LED-illuminated shadow boxes that make the jersey the focal point of any room. Hidden LEDs integrated into the frame construction light the jersey from above and around, with the lights visible only when activated. Holographic backing panels reflect and multiply the light for a stadium-display effect. The jersey reads as a premium installation rather than a wall decoration, and the lighting can be operated by remote, wall switch, or smart home integration.

What's involved
LED illumination requires custom frame construction with internal channels for the lighting hardware. We integrate the LEDs during the build, not as an aftermarket addition, so the lights stay invisible when off. Power runs through a hidden cord exit at the back of the frame. Switching options include remote control, hardwired wall switch, or integration with smart home systems like Lutron or Philips Hue. Light color and intensity adjustable on most installations.

Cash, check, and all major credit cards. 50% deposit on larger orders. Balance due when you pick up the finished piece. For valuable autographed or game-worn pieces, we accept piece-held-during-build as adequate security if preferred over deposit.
