Frame Material & Construction
Built from select hardwood, kiln-dried so it stays straight and mills cleanly. The matte black finish is applied in multiple coats and hand-rubbed to kill the sheen, so the frame reads as a clean rectangle without reflections under gallery lighting.
The stepped profile is CNC-cut for consistent dimensions and square corners on every piece. It's the same construction we use for commercial framing jobs where the frame has to hold up to daily handling.
Moulding Profile & Design
The 1.5" face width gives the frame real visual weight, which is what you want for statement artwork and oversized prints. The stepped profile has three distinct levels that add architectural depth without ornament.
This graduated design comes out of contemporary gallery practice, where bold frames support large-scale photography and modern art without competing with it. The clean geometry also makes it easy to repeat across a gallery wall or multi-frame installation.
Usable Depth & Capacity
The 0.5" rabbet depth leaves room for a standard mat-and-backing package or a stretched canvas up to 3/8" thick for a float mount. It takes glass or acrylic glazing, so the same frame works for fine art prints, photography, documents, or a stretched canvas without modification.
Custom Size Range & Precision
Built to any custom size from 4×4 up to 32 by 40 inches (or 40 by 32 inches), accurate to 1/8 inch. Panoramic and square dimensions are handled the same way as standard sizes. Every frame is cut to order with mitered 45-degree corners and reinforced joinery.
